About Sparks of Hope Australia
Sparks of Hope Australia is a Griffith-based practice supporting individuals, children, families, and couples through professional counselling and relationship-focused coaching.
What began as Sparks of Hope Counselling has grown into a partnership between Vicki and James Rengger, bringing together complementary areas of experience and a shared desire to help people navigate life, relationships, and change with greater hope.
Our counselling and coaching services remain distinct, allowing clients to choose the type of support that best fits their needs while benefiting from the same values of compassion, dignity, respect, and genuine care.
About Vicki
Welcome! I’m Vicki Rengger, a dedicated and qualified counsellor with a strong foundation in working with young people. Since January 2023, I have been serving as a school counsellor, a role that has deepened my passion for supporting individuals through their challenges. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Social Science with a major in counselling and young people, and a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counselling, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide professional and compassionate care. Additionally, since August 2026, I have been a level 3 ACA member.
Before pursuing my degree, I spent over 15 years working in various educational and childcare settings, including schools, daycare, and out-of-school care. My extensive experience with children and young people has given me a unique perspective on their needs, especially in environments where counselling support is often limited.
At Sparks of Hope Australia, my goal is to offer a safe and supportive space where you can explore your concerns and work towards positive change. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you’re ready to take the next step toward your wellbeing.

About James
James works with couples through marriage and relationship coaching, helping them strengthen communication, deepen connection, and develop practical ways of navigating life together.
His approach combines structured relationship education and coaching with ongoing professional development in evidence-informed relationship frameworks, including Gottman Method training.
James holds a Master of Theology and Bachelor of Ministry, and is currently undertaking his PhD. His work with couples is provided as relationship coaching rather than counselling or mental health treatment.
James works alongside Vicki within Sparks of Hope Australia, allowing the practice to provide both professional counselling and relationship coaching while maintaining clear professional boundaries between the two services.
